Postpartum Care

Promoting mother-baby bonding

We create a nurturing environment so you and your baby can bond from the first moments of life.

We practice evidence-based postpartum care

  • Private mother-baby rooms
Our approach to care is evidence-based, which means that research has helped us to understand how important it is to keep a mother and her baby together in a private room designed with soothing surroundings to create a nurturing environment.
  • Bedside exams for you and your baby
Physicians will examine you and your baby right at your bedside, allowing your family members to participate and learn along with you.
  • A good foundation for breastfeeding
When you and your baby stay together in the same room, you’ll be better able to read your baby’s cues for when it’s time to breastfeed.
  • Skin-to-skin contact
Your dedicated nurse will encourage skin-to-skin contact between you and your baby, which studies show helps breastfeeding go more smoothly.

Nurses provide support and skills

  • Basic skills for new moms
One dedicated nurse will help you learn the basics about feeding, bathing and changing your newborn. You can also sign up for childbirth and parenting classes for hands-on training and tips.
  • Breastfeeding techniques
A dedicated nurse will also be on hand to help you with breastfeeding techniques and to answer any questions you have about caring for your baby.
