Personal Statement

Dr. King initially trained as a biomedical engineer at Cornell University, went on to complete her general surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati and completed her training in pediatric surgery at Washington University of St Louis. Dr. King’s passion is to combine her problem solving and surgical skills to help sick children and their families.  She is an advocate for the patient and their family, and she works hard as part of a collaborative team to form the best possible treatment plan for sick children.

Dr. King is a surgeon who provides care to all aspects of neonatal and pediatric surgery. Her practice specializes in utilizing minimally invasive techniques in thoracic and abdominal surgery for pediatric patients of all ages. Dr. King has special interests in neonatal and fetal surgery including congenital diaphragmatic hernia, omphalocele, gastroschisis and extracorporeal membranous oxygenation (ECMO).

Prior to joining the surgery team, Dr. King has done extensive research background in fetal regenerative wound healing. Her current research interests include fetal surgery to help treat life-threatening congenital abnormalities and to correct problems that would be too advance to correct after the baby is born.
