Personal Statement

Dr. Castillo is currently a faculty member in the Meyer Center for Developmental Pediatrics at Texas Children's Hospital/BCM. Her clinical interests are spina bifida, cerebral palsy, and infant /toddler development. She currently leads the TCH/BCM site of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention research project in collaboration with fourteen other Spina Bifida programs throughout the United States in a disease specific national registry. She also has international interests in Central America, with ongoing work in Nicaragua.

Dr. Castillo enjoys interacting with patients and their families and considers it a privilege to partner with families in order to improve outcomes for individuals with chronic conditions and special health needs.
