About

LaPortia Smith, MD, MPH, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist from Cleveland, Ohio. She is committed to helping patients achieve their health goals through collaborative patient care that centers each patient’s life experience and priorities in the context of evidence-based medical care.  

Dr. Smith served in the United States Army as an obstetrician/gynecologist and was honorably discharged as a Major with three service awards.  Dr. Smith is experienced in Da Vinci robotic surgery.  Her professional interests include improving the fourth trimester of pregnancy care (the time immediately following pregnancy and delivery) and streamlining clinical decision support to provide personalized, evidence-based reproductive healthcare.  She spends her free time with her husband and 3 daughters. 

Clinical Interests: medically complicated pregnancies, gynecology care related to pelvic pain, menstrual cycle abnormalities, menopause care
