Personal Statement
Dr. Lantin-Hermoso's research and clinical interest is echocardiography, fetal cardiology and out-patient pediatric cardiology. Her teaching focus is cardiology education at all levels of training. She directs the Cardiology Elective Curriculum for TCH/Baylor Pediatric Residents, medical students, and foreign visiting students and physicians.
Dr. Lantin-Hermoso's other areas of expertise include fetal cardiology and peri-operative trans-esophageal echocardiography. She has been involved in fetal cardiac monitoring and resuscitation during fetal EXIT procedures and open fetal interventions. One of her research interests is the development of 3Dimensional echo protocols for the evaluation of congenital heart defects, particularly the quantitative assessment of ventricular function in Single ventricles by 3D Echo. She has been involved in the Single Ventricle Program, and along with other Echo lab faculty, is interested in identifying echo prognosticating characteristics that might predict outcomes. Dr. Lantin-Hermoso is also interested in the echo evaluation of children with pulmonary hypertension.
