Personal Statement

In 2010, I graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and began my career in Austin, Texas as a Registered Nurse on a Trauma/Ortho/Plastics Medical-Surgical Unit at their Level 1 Trauma Center. After four and a half years caring for patients of all ages, I knew I wanted to focus on my true passion: children. In 2015, I joined the Emergency Room at Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas in Austin and spent four years as a bedside nurse in a Level 1 Trauma Center ER.

Then, in April 2019, I was fortunate enough to join the Kangaroo Crew Intensive Care Transport Team here at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. I really enjoyed my time on the ambulance and airplane, picking up and caring for the region's critically ill neonates, pediatrics, and maternal patients. From that role, I moved to the Cardiac Cath Lab here at Texas Children's where I spent the past year actively involved in patient's, intra-procedure (including fetal cardiac intervention cases) care.

Although loving both positions prior to this one, I knew that once a spot opened as a Fetal Center Nurse Coordinator, it was meant to be. Having had a personal journey with a complicated pregnancy, as well as knowing the complexities of these diagnoses, my goal is to educate, support, and advocate for each family I work with.
